Weekly County COVID-19 Briefing: County Executive Marc Elrich, County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles and Emergency Management Director Dr. Earl Stoddard will hold their weekly media briefing at 12:30 p.m. You can watch live on MCM channels 21 and 995 (HD), County Cable Montgomery and on the county’s Facebook and YouTube channels. 2. School Graduation Guidance: The county council voted Tuesday to limit school graduation ceremonies to 50% of venue capacity for outdoor ceremonies, among other graduation guidance. Capacity is limited to 25% for indoor ceremonies or 250 people, whichever is fewer people. ....

Pausing J&J Doses: Following CDC and FDA recommendations, the Montgomery County health department announced it will pause use of single-dose Johnson & Johnson (J&J) COVID-19 vaccines after six recipients developed rare episodes involving blood clots. About 6.8 million doses of the J&J vaccine have been administered nationwide. In a statement, County Executive Marc Elrich said the health department will substitute Pfizer doses for J&J doses until further notice. ....
