Kolkata, July 23 (PTI) Three Bangladeshi women have been apprehended by Border Security Force (BSF) in separate incidents for illegally trying to cross the Indo-Bangla border in South Bengal Frontier, the force said in a statement on Friday.
All the three women were from Jessore district in Bangladesh, the statement said.
Two of them were apprehended when they were trying to enter Bangladesh from the Indian side near the Tarali outpost on Thursday, while another woman was nabbed when she was attempting to enter India from the neighbouring country through the same border outpos ....

Bharuch/Surat: Three Bangladeshi nationals staying illegally in the country were arrested for murder by Bharuch local crime branch police on Friday.
According to police, the trio killed a colleague who was threatening them of informing the police about their illegal presence here and of being deported back to their native country. “All four, including the one who was killed, are Bangladeshi nationals and had been staying in our country illegally from past many years. An emeritus scientist at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research (icddr,b), Firdausi is a laureate of the 2020 L Oréal-Unesco For Women in Science Award for her advocacy of early diagnoses and global vaccination as well as her work on understanding and preventing infectious diseases affecting children in developing countries.
Salma was awarded the 2020 Norman E Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application by the World Food Prize Foundation for her work with small-scale farmers in Bangladesh, particularly for her efforts involving veterinary outreach, treatment and education, according to the magazine website. ....

Three Bangladeshi researchers have been included in the sixth edition of Asian Scientist 100 list, which celebrates the success of the region’s best and brightest, highlighting their achievements across a range of scientific disciplines.
They are Dr Salma Sultana, Dr Firdausi Qadri and Prof Samia Subrina, according to the website of Asian Scientist, an English language science and technology magazine published in Singapore.
Alternatively, the researchers have to provide leadership in academia or industry, or make a significant scientific discovery to secure a place on the prestigious list.              
It is stated on the website of Asian Scientist that Salma Sultana, founder of Model Livestock Advancement Foundation, was awarded the 2020 Norman E Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application by the World Food Prize Foundation for her work with small ....
