Council reveals delays to $11m foreshore upgrade

Sunshine Coast Council is seeking changes to its multimillion dollar funding agreement for the Mooloolaba foreshore development due to construction delays of up to six months.
Wet weather, storm damage and design changes have delayed works on the new boardwalk, viewing platform and seawall, according to the council.
A council spokesman said a request had been made to the State Government for amendments to the funding agreement to reflect the new time frames.
The state chipped in $4.5 million from its Unite and Recover Community Stimulus Package for the development, which was expected to be completed by the middle of the year. ....
