'Hope Grows Lottery' to support Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre

Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre launched their ‘Hope Grows Lottery’ this week and one winner will walk away with $10,000 cash.
Carly Cunningham, manager of communications and donor relations says that tickets are $50 each or three for $125 and are available by contacting the organization (ticket sales end on June 21 and the draw is on June 28.) ....

Cornerstone offers virtual services during COVID-19 pandemic


The COVID-19 pandemic has been impacting things at Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre.
Executive Director Nancy Johnston said things are going pretty well now, as they learned a lot when they had to make changes in March.
While Cornerstone never shut down throughout the pandemic and many services have pivoted to operate virtually, Johnston said they have had to reduce capacity, which was often above 100 per cent.
Johnston said at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cornerstone had to limit service to Northumberland residents only in order to limit any possible spread of the virus.
While there’s no statistics at this time to say whether the need for service has increased during this province-wide shutdown, Johnston said it wouldn’t be surprising to see that happen. ....
