Barbara and Bob Matarese of East Greenbush shared this story of commitment and energy displayed by their children.
After finishing the Virtual Marine Corps Marathon in October 2020, in honor of their brother who served in the Marines, three of our children joked about doing another Marine Corps challenge. They decided to sign up for Operation Desert Storm’s 30th Anniversary Virtual 218 miler.
At first, they talked about making up teams to help run the 218 miles, which commemorates the distance the Marines covered from Saudia Arabia to Kuwait City to force out the Iraqi army. After some discussion, the group of three  challenged their other three siblings to individually complete the 218 miles in 43 days from Jan 17, 2021 to Feb 28,2021. ....
