Mehul Devkala Vadodara: A software engineer by profession, Mehul Devkala, a Barodian, never studied professional film making. But his six-minute short film based on Mahatma Gandhi is making waves in the prestigious film festivals. The film was nominated for Golden Fox Awards, incidentally the only one by a Gujarati film-maker, for the prestigious award in the first week in February. Organized by Kolkata International Cult Film Festival, it, however, couldn’t make it to the top. “While making the film in 2019, I never imagined that it would garner so many rave reviews. I have no regrets in not being able to get an award, as I firmly believe that the nomination for the prestigious award in itself was my biggest reward, said Devkala, adding that his film had won an outstanding achievement award in Kolkata International Cult Film Festival in September last year. ....
