Amman – Tuesday, July 06, 2021 – The SRTF is pleased to announce the approval of three new efforts in Northern Aleppo and Ar-Raqqa for a total budget of EUR 11.28 million. These newly approved efforts bring the SRTF’s total budget for projects to over EUR 192.2 million.
The first is the fifth phase of the multi-phase food security project,
“Complementary Project for Enhancing Food Security in the North of Aleppo Governorate”. This next phase will continue to supply soft wheat, as well as additional bakery equipment to mitigate the bread supply crisis from low wheat crop yields and increased demand for bread. This project has a budget of EUR 7.8 million and will benefit an estimated 375,000 beneficiaries every month for eight months who will benefit from increased availability of affordable bread. ....

Turkey – Wednesday, June 30, 2021 – The fourth phase of the SRTF’s multi-phase food security project,
“Complementary Project for Enhancing Food Security in the North of Aleppo Governorate”, received a delivery of Polypropylene (PP) sacks.
The implementing entity (IE) received 150,000 50-kilogram (kg) PP sacks that will hold the flour produced at SRTF- supplied flour mills.
In addition to the PP sacks, the project also received 100 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) woven material covers. The HDPE covers will be used to cover the wheat heaps as a second layer after using
polyethylene (PE) sheets size (24 16 meters) to protect the wheat heaps sacks from inclement weather conditions. ....

Turkey – Sunday, June 27, 2021 – The third phase of the SRTF’s food security project,
“Complimentary Project for Enhancing Food Security in the North of Aleppo Governorate” started to build a shed that will host a full mobile wheat mill. So far, the foundation, concrete works, and the main steel frame is complete and in place.
This shed will provide more than 550 square meters of space, including water and sanitation facilities. The mill, located inside the shed, has a production capacity of 15 tons per day of wheat flour. ....
