When: Deadline March 17, 11:59 p.m. Vancouver-based production duo MaryJane HiFi invites artists to submit their fave track for a remote music biz experience working with these experienced industry pros in a mentorship arrangement. Open to all B.C.-based artists ages 19+, the competition requires all applicants to drop an MP3 to be assessed by a team of Canadian producers and engineers and to answer a quiz based upon two instructional videos MaryJane HiFi has made for contestants to follow. One is an intro to home recording and the other some Mix By Mail tips and tricks. Comprised of composer/keyboardist/programmer Mary Ancheta, who has recorded and toured with artists ranging from Carly Rae Jepsen to Iskwē, and Aussie transplant Jane Aurora, owner of Capsule Studios and creative director of the Producers Lounge series, MaryJane HiFi encourages tracks that feature social justice and anti-racism themes.
