Longtime courthouse leader Mike Montplaisir to retire

FARGO A committee of five people has been named to help select the replacement for one of the Cass County courthouse s longtime leaders Mike Montplaisir who is planning to retire Aug. 3.
The finance director not only works on the county budget and handles other financial matters but is also in charge of elections in the county.
It was formerly an elected position when the job title was county auditor.
Applications for the position were open for about two months as county officials extended advertising to seek more candidates.
When applications finally closed last Friday, July 16, there were 13 applicants seeking the job that pays in the range of $100,873 to $151,159. ....
