KBRH gets $38.8 million boost

Construction is underway at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) for a new ambulatory care clinic and expanded pharmacy.
“Our government recognized the critical importance of upgrading KBRH so people in the West Kootenay-Boundary area could get better care, so it’s exciting to see work get started on the next phase of this project,” said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health. “This investment builds on upgrades already completed at the hospital, which includes a new emergency department.”
The pharmacy will be tripled in size, improving patient privacy with new consultation rooms. The ambulatory care unit will be expanded to create improved outpatient exam rooms and telehealth services. Ambulatory care includes outpatient procedures such as endoscopies, cystoscopies and other minor procedures. ....

Interior Health is pleased to announce Ledcor Construction Ltd. has been selected to oversee construction of the Pharmacy and Ambulatory Care Project at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH).

“Redeveloping the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail is vitally important for people who live throughout the entire Kootenay Boundary region,” said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health. “Awarding this contract is an important step forward as we continue enhancing and modernizing this hospital for everyone who relies on it for care.” ....

Construction of the Pharmacy and Ambulatory Care Project at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) will be overseen by Ledcor Construction Ltd.
The project will triple the size of the pharmacy and improve patient privacy with new patient education rooms for private consultations. In addition, Interior Health said the expansion of the ambulatory care unit will improve outpatient exam rooms, booking offices and telehealth services.
“These enhancements to the ambulatory care unit and the pharmacy show our commitment to the people of the entire region,” said Kootenay West MLA Katrine Conroy. “As a regional hospital, Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is important to all the residents of the area and we are excited to see this new project moving forward.” ....
