KEY ACTION  The Norwayne Local Schools Board of Education marked Autism Awareness Month by honoring Malachi Kreiner, a Norwayne High School 2018 graduate, and highlighting the program offered by Denise Followay, Northwestern s special education teacher.
KEY DISCUSSION  Kreiner and his mother, Deb, were guests of the board at its April meeting, in which Malachi Kreiner s path to employability exemplified opportunities available during a special education student s transition from high school, Superintendent Karen O Hare said. Malachi Kreiner s story also is illustrative of what Denise has done for the program, O Hare said.
The GUIDE program is a Norwayne pilot program, Followay said, but her hope is to get all county schools involved. ....
