নীলরতন সরকার (এনআরএস) মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ‘ডোম’-এর পদে চাকরির জন্য ইঞ্জিনিয়ারদের আবেদন রাজ্যের কর্মসংস্থানের ‘ভয়াবহ চেহারা’কে বেআব্রু করে দিয়েছে বলে সরব হল বিরোধী বিজেপি এবং সিপিএম।
এনআরএস-এর ‘ল্যাবরেটরি অ্যাটেনডেন্ট’-এর ছ’টি শূন্য পদে নিয়োগের বিজ্ঞপ্তি প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। আগে ‘ডোম’ নামে পরিচিত এই পদে নিয়োগের জন্য ন্যূনতম যোগ্যতা অষ্টম শ্রেণি পাশ। ওই ছ’টি পদের জন্য প্রায় ৮০০০ আবেদন জমা পড়েছে। আবেদনকারীদের মধ্যে দু’হাজারের বেশি স্নাতক, ৫০০ জনের মতো স্নাতকোত্তর এবং প্রায় ১০০ জন ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং পাশ। বিষয়টি নিয়ে রাজ্য সরকারকে শনিবার কটাক্ষ করেছেন বিজেপির রাজ্য সভাপতি দিলীপ ঘোষ এবং সিপিএমের রাজ্য সম্পাদক সূর্যকান্ত মিশ্র। দিলীপবাবু বলেন, ‘‘পশ্চিমবঙ্গের শিক্ষিত যুবসমাজের ভবিষ্যৎ যে তৃণমূল সরকারের জমানায় কী করুণ দশায় পৌঁছেছে, এনআরএসের ঘটনা তারই প্রমাণ।’’ আর সূর্যবাবুর কথায়, ‘‘এটাই রাজ্যের কর্মসংস্থানের পরিস্থিতি! অনেক পদ শূন্য। তবু নিয়োগের পরীক্ষা হয় না। অস্থায়ী পদের স্থায়ীকরণ হয় না। গত ১০ বছরে এই সমস্যা বেড়েছে। সারা দেশ ও দুনিয়াতেই এখন কর্মসংস্থানের সঙ্কট চলছে। আর পশ্চিমবঙ্গ আগের চেয়ে পিছিয়ে পড়েছে।’’
বিরোধীদের আক্রমণের জবাবে তৃণমূল নেতা তাপস রায় বলেন, ‘‘এনআরএসের এই চিত্র দুঃখজনক। কিন্তু আর্থিক মন্দা এবং কর্মসংস্থানের অভাবে এখন গোটা দুনিয়া ভুগছে। ভারত বিশ্বের বাইরে নয়। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ভারতের বাইরে নয়। কিন্তু মোদী জমানায় দেশে বেকারত্ব যে রেকর্ড ছুঁয়েছে, তা নিয়ে দিলীপবাবুর জবাব কী হবে? আর সূর্যবাবুর কাছে জানতে চাই, তাঁরা কি তাঁদের ৩৪ বছরে প্রচুর কর্মসংস্থান তৈরি করেছিলেন?’’
