Child Hospitalized After Suffering Unknown Medical Emergency At West Creek Academy In Santa Clarita
A child was transported to the hospital Friday after suffering an unknown medical emergency at West Creek Academy in Santa Clarita.
Around 12:40 p.m. Friday, first responders received reports of a child suffering from an unknown medical emergency at West Creek Academy on West Hills Drive in Valencia, said Leslie Lua, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Paramedics along with Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Deputies responded to render aid to the individual, according to officials.
One person was transported to the hospital in unknown condition, according to Lua. ....

Resident Describes North Fire Evacuation In Santa Clarita

“Firefighters today are on the line working very hard to improve those containment numbers,” said Sean Ferguson, LACoFD Public Information Officer on Thursday. “However they are battling high temperatures, low relative humidity and at times dusty conditions.”

Due to accurate infrared mapping flights conducted along the fire’s perimeter, the fire size had been downgraded from an earlier estimate to 640 acres as of Thursday morning, according to Fire officials.
“The day was going normally and then almost instantly, it was chaos,” Smith said. “It first seemed like it was far away, but we soon realized it was very close and travelling at us very quickly. At one point we could see flames on the hills right next to our house.” ....

Officials have lifted all mandatory evacuation orders for the North fire in the Castaic area as firefighters have stopped its forward progress.
About 10 p.m., the Santa Clarita sheriff’s station said that the 650-acre brush fire was 25% contained. Officials had previously issued mandatory evacuations for residents north and west of West Hills Drive, north of Iron Village Drive, north and west of Tesoro del Valle Drive, and north of Copper Hill Drive. Residents on Rye Canyon Loop had been under voluntary evacuations. ....

A brush fire in Castaic that has burned around 650 acres and is zero percent contained has prompted authorities to issue mandatory evacuations for several streets in the area.
The North Fire was first reported at around 1:45 p.m. near The Old Road, east of the Golden State (5) Freeway. The fire began as a one acre brush fire that quickly spread to 50 acres by 3:20 p.m.
Mandatory evacuations were issued for those residents north and west of West Hills Drive, north of Iron Village Drive, north and west of Tesoro Del Valle and north of Copper Hill Drive due to the North Fire, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff s Station announced. ....
