One Hospitalized Following ‘Use Of Force’ In Burglary Investigation
One individual was hospitalized Wednesday night after a “use of force” during a burglary investigation in Newhall, officials said.
Just before 7:30 p.m., deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station engaged a suspect in a burglary, known to have a no-bail warrant for their arrest, and set up a containment in the area around Old Orchard Park, according to Sergeant Barkon with the Station.
“We did detain one but we are still investigating,” Sergeant Barkon said. “We are not sure if it’s the same person who ran or another suspect.” ....

Two Rescued After Falling 100 Feet Down Embankment In 14 Freeway Crash
Two people were rescued by first responders after a 14 Freeway crash sent then “at least 100 feet” down an embankment and trapped them in their vehicle Thursday evening.
Just after 6 p.m., reports were received of a vehicle over the side of the northbound 14 freeway near Soledad Canyon Road, according to Supervisor Rangel with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“The car was at least 100 feet down (the embankment),” Rangel said at 6:30 p.m. “They are conducting a rescue now.”
Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue deputies, as well as two helicopters from the L.A. County Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene, in addition to two ambulances. ....
