MELAKA, April 17 The Melaka Immigration Department detained 39 undocumented migrants, including three women, in separate raids around Klebang and Batu Berendam here early this morning.
The department’s deputy director, K. Vishnutharan said those detained, aged between 23 and 50, were from Bangladesh (22), Indonesia (nine), Pakistan (six) and Myanmar (two).
He said all of them were detained on suspicion of committing offences under the Immigration Act 1956/63 for overstaying and not having valid travel documents. ....

MELAKA: The Melaka Immigration Department detained 39 illegal immigrants, including three women, in separate raids around Klebang and Batu Berendam here early this morning.
The department’s deputy director, K. Vishnutharan said those detained, aged between 23 and 50, were from Bangladesh (22), Indonesia (nine), Pakistan (six) and Myanmar (two).
He said all of them were detained on suspicion of committing offences under the Immigration Act 1956/63 for overstaying and not having valid travel documents.
“A total of 132 immigrants were screened in the first raid at a settlement for foreign workers in Pantai Klebang at 1.15 am, while another 34 of them were screened during a 4 am raid around the Batu Berendam Wholesale Market,” he said in a statement here today. ....

Four foreign women nabbed by Immigration in prostitution raid


MELAKA: Melaka Immigration Department busted a prostitution ring with the arrest of four foreign women, including one Kyrgyzstan national.
The department s state deputy director K.Vishutharan said the four, aged 28 to 38, offered sexual services through the WeChat App.
He said the raid was conducted on Friday (Feb 19) at a hotel in Taman Kota Laksamana here.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the four charged between RM200 to RM450 for a 45-minute session, he said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 20).
Vishnutharan said the hotel rooms were leased by a local male pimp, and the earnings were shared between the four women and the man. ....
