Weather forecast Australia: Flood warnings continue at the Queensland-New South Wales border


Around 40mm of rain could fall today.
Authorities say the conditions have not been seen since Cyclone Debbie in 2017.
An evacuation order is in place for Condong, Tumbulgum, Tygalah and surrounding areas along the Tweed River.
The SES says it s the final flood warning for the Tweed, with waters likely to begin receding today allowing for a clearer picture of the damage below.
A series of minor flood warnings have been issued for other rivers in the region.
Further south near Coffs Harbour, a high tide is likely to hit at 10.30am.
The weather bureau has predicted possible flooding for low lying areas in the North Macksville areas. ....

Weather forecast Australia: Wild conditions to ease in northeast NSW and southeast Queensland


Severe weather warnings are now in place for large swathes of NSW and Queensland with heavy rainfall, abnormally high tides and damaging surf expected.
A trough over the northern NSW coast continues to bring heavy rain to the region while Queensland braces for the highest tide of the year with waves over five metres possible today.

Heavy rain is expected to be worst across the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast today with conditions forecast to ease during the afternoon and overnight.
Despite the possibility of less extreme conditions, showers and thunderstorms will persist for the coming days and will continue to bring the risk of flash flooding. ....
