US lifestyle products marketer Ralph Lauren to sell Club Monaco

Ralph Lauren Corporation, a global leader in the design, marketing and distribution of premium lifestyle products, will sell Club Monaco brand to leading global private equity firm Regent, LP. The transaction is expected to close by the end of June 2021. The transaction represents a continued focus on Ralph Lauren s Next Great Chapter Plan.

Ralph Lauren said the transaction epresents a continued focus on its Next Great Chapter Plan
Ralph Lauren is to sell its Club Monaco brand to global private equity firm Regent, LP as the US fashion company increases its focus on its core namesake brands.
Announced today (13 May), the deal comes after Ralph Lauren outlined a Fiscal 2021 Strategic Realignment Plan last year that would accelerate its Next Great Chapter Plan , which was first announced in 2018. 
Included in this realignment was an evaluation of the company s brand portfolio, with a focus on ensuring its core brands are well-positioned for sustainable growth. The sale of Club Monaco to Regent, combined with the licensing of the Chaps brand last year, concludes this portfolio evaluation. ....

Ralph Lauren Corp (NYSE: RL) has sold its Club Monaco brand to the private equity firm Regent, L.P., for an undisclosed sum.
What Happened: Club Monaco is a casual clothing retailer with more than 140 locations worldwide. The company was founded in Toronto in 1985 and acquired by Ralph Lauren in 1999.
In a press statement, Ralph Lauren described the sale of Club Monaco as being part of its Fiscal 2021 Strategic Realignment Plan, which included a review of its portfolio to determine which brands are poised for sustainable growth.
“As we increase our focus on our core namesake brands, we want to ensure the Club Monaco brand is also well-positioned for long-term success,” said Patrice Louvet, president and CEO. We are confident that Regent is the right home for Club Monaco to realize its full potential, as they will be able to leverage their strategic and operational expertise to continue Club Monaco’s growth.” ....
