Mamta Banerjee today said that she did not try to incite or influence voters against central security forces with her comments at an election rally. The West Bengal chief minister was responding to a notice of the Election Commission, seeking clarification on his comments during the campaign, allegedly telling central security forces to “encircle” the people.
In her reply to the Election Commission, Ms. Banerjee said, “There has been no attempt to incite or influence voters against the CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces). It is clear that I have not violated the Model Code of Conduct.” “ ....
