GRIDCo explains power outage

The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has assured the public that it is working with the relevant players in the power generation and distribution chain to resume power transmission to all areas experiencing power outage.
This follows power outage experienced in parts of the country yesterday due to technical challenges.
A statement released by the company said the power system experienced a fault on the Aboadze-Anwomaso transmission line, leading to the loss of supply to some parts of the country.
It said the technical team immediately initiated restoration efforts and was able to fix the transmission network within 30 minutes. ....

'Dumsor' hits Volta and Oti Regions as GRIDCO releases timetable for load shedding

According to a statement by GRIDCO, this is to enable some repair and maintenance works to go on in the region.
Parts of Ho, Adaklu Ahunda, Sogakope, Akatsi, Keta, Adidome, and its environs are expected to experience power outages.
On March 7, there was a nationwide power blackout to which GRIDCO attributed some faults at the bulk supply points.
“The technical team is currently working to restore power supply to all Bulk Supply Points (BPSs) in the country,” it said in a statement.

Intermittent Power Outages Expected In Coming Months – GRIDCo

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), Mr Jonathan Amoako-Baah, says the country will, in the coming months, experience some intermittent power outages as a result of ongoing projects across the country.
A statement issued by Mr Amoako-Baah explained that although there was enough capacity to more than meet demand, works on the Pokuase and Kasoa substations, as well as other transmission line works across the country, have accounted for the intermittent outages.
“Ghana’s system peak demand is close to 3,200MW with an installed capacity of 5,300MW – this means there’s enough capacity to more than meet demand. Some intermittent outages are to be expected on the grid in the coming months due to ongoing projects,” the statement said. ....
