Indigenous oil and gas firm in Nigeria’s upstream sector, Moni Pulo Limited, has said capacity building will ameliorate the Niger Delta region’s economic challenges and reduce incidences of youth restiveness.
The Chairman/Chief Executive, Moni Pulo Petroleum Development, Mrs Seinge Lulu-Briggs made the call at a community empowerment programme for the people of Mbo and Effiat communities in Mbo local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
Lulu-Briggs spoke through the head of administration and community relations, Alabo Clifford, saying the oil firm has a passion for transforming communities and catalyst personal and community growth in sustainable manner through corporate social responsibility. ....

Oil firm empowers Akwa Ibom indigenes

An indigenous oil company, Moni Pulo Limited, has empowered no fewer than 70 indigenes of its host communities of Effiat and Mbo in Mbo Council of Akwa Ibom State with business start-ups and some motorcycles.
Describing the gesture as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Chief Executive Officer of Moni Pulo, Dr. Seinye Lulu-Briggs, noted that the empowerment became necessary to ensure transformation of the communities, while sustainably creating individual and communal growth.
Lulu-Briggs, who was represented by the company’s Head of Administration and Community Relations, Alabo Clifford, explained that despite the challenges in the oil sector, the company had continued to invest in the wellbeing of the host communities. ....

Former President Goodluck Jonathan at the weekend said the late High Chief Olu Benson, Lulu-Briggs was as a sophisticated personality, who supported the Nigerian political process, saying he (Lulu Briggs) played a key role in his rise in national politics.
Jonathan stated this during the final burial of the philanthropist and billionaire oil magnate in his Abonnema country home in Rivers State amid pomp and pageantry.
The deceased, who was founder and Chairman of Moni Pulo Limited, an oil and gas company who died at 88 on December 27, 2018 in Ghana, was a man of many parts, who had a humble beginning but rose to become one of African’s foremost nationalist who impacted on the development of the country. ....

Finally, the remains of late oil magnate and renowned philanthropist, High Chief Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs, were yesterday laid to rest in his hometown, Abonnema, in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State. Former President Goodluck Jonathan; wife of President Muhammad Buhari, Aisha; and Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, were among dignitaries present to bid the late business mogul, who died over two years ago, farewell.
Mrs Alanyingi Sylva, wife of Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva, represented Aisha at the funeral ceremony.
Lulu-Briggs died in December 2018 but his burial was delayed by disagreements within his family over inheritance and funeral modalities. ....
