Highway Construction In March Continues In Top Gear, Expected To Reach Record High Of 37 KM Per Day

From a mere 12 km per day in 2014-15, the pace of highway construction has touched nearly 34 km per day in the April to February period of the current fiscal year which is the sharpest rate seen in any year.
According to officials, if the highway construction in March continues at the same level as in February, this fiscal year would likely see new highway stretches of 13,400 km (37 km per day) built. ....

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has framed rules according to which automakers in the country will have to issue a mandatory vehicle recall.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) had announced last year that it will come up with a slew of rules to streamline the process of vehicle recalls in India. Currently, all the carmakers undertake a mandatory recall to fix issues in a vehicle and this decision can be on the basis of complaints received or internal findings. However, the new rules by the government will make it compulsory for an automaker to recall vehicles if certain criteria are met. The ministry, according to media reports, has now drafted the rules for mandatory vehicle recall and will bring them into effect from 1 April, 2021. According to these rules, the ....

Nitin Gadkari, the Indian Minister of Road Transport and Highways, recently informed the parliament that the Delhi government has provisions to offer vehicle scrapping incentives under the purview of the Delhi EV Policy. According to a PTI report, he noted that scrapping incentives of up to ₹7,500 per vehicle for auto and light commercial vehicles are being provided by the Delhi government as part of the provisions of the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2020, which was announced on 7 August 2020 with the aim to boost the adoption of electric mobility solutions across the city. ....
