McHenry man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting child, sentenced to 40 years

A 25-year-old McHenry man pleaded guilty Wednesday to the predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to 40 years in prison, the McHenry County State s Attorney s Office said in a news release Thursday.
Matthew Reder was arrested in February 2020 after barricading himself in the bathroom of a Crystal Lake apartment and threatening police officers with a knife. At the time, Reder was accused of filming and photographing himself engaging in sexual activity with a child who was younger than 13, court records show. ....
