The clock is ticking to the season opener for the Lloydminster Bobcats. Head Coach and GM Nigel Dube is laying out the roadmap ahead of the return of AJHL hockey to the Border City.
Dube is excited as some new staffers are onboard including Assistant Coach/GM Carter Duffin who is now in Lloydminster from Castlegar, B.C.
“He was the Head Coach and General Manager of the Castlegar Rebels and the International Junior Hockey League for the last three years. [He] made a run to the SJHL finals with the Estevan Bruins. So [we are] bringing in the guy with experience. [He] knows junior hockey [and is] going to help our players on and off the ice and contribute to our organization and our community.” ....

'It's a devastating blow': MJHL pulls the plug on 2020/21 season

The Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League has pulled the plug on its 2020/21 season after new health orders prohibited an indoor on-ice return for at least another three weeks.
With the restrictions going into early March, the league said it was unfair for the facilities, the communities, players and staff to find a way forward.
Once we had a clear understanding of what the (restrictions) entailed, and how that was not a benefit for our league individually, and really all of minor hockey and indoor organized sports at this time, we made the decision to cancel the remainder of the season, said Kevin Saurette, commissioner of the MJHL. ....
