BOTH the agriculture and food and beverages sectors, as well as religious organisations, were thankful for the covid19 vaccines to be provided by the Ministry of Health.
On Saturday, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh at the Prime Minister’s media conference at the Diplomatic Center in St Ann’s, Port of Spain said 10,000 and 20,000 vaccines would be provide to the agriculture sector, including fisheries, and food and beverages sector, respectively. Religious organisations will be given 2,000 vaccines as well. ....

CATHOLIC priest Msgr Christian Pereira has drawn a parallel between the new behaviours associated with the pandemic and the love and sacrifice that symbolises the Lenten period that Christians around the world are observing.
He linked the washing and sanitising of hands to repentance, wearing masks to a daily crucifixion and social distancing as the ultimate sacrificial act of love or fasting.
In a message for Lent, he said embracing these disciplines would be the most life-giving commitment one can offer to family, church community and wider society. ....

A Trinidadian who lives in Canada has donated 62 tablets and $10,000 in cash to the St Benedict’s RC Church, La Romaine, for use by the migrant community and local vulnerable parishioners.
The charitable work of the La Romaine Migrant Support (LARMS) and Kindness Makes a Difference (KMAD) captured the attention of the benefactor, who wants to remain anonymous. ....
