A man surrendered peacefully after a police chase that ended with him crashing into a pole and a two-hour standoff in Carson City Tuesday, authorities said. 
Eugene Griffin Jr., 51, had a firearm at the time of the incident and was booked into the Washoe County jail, said Kim Smith, public information officer with the Department of Public Safety. No injuries were reported.  
The Nevada Highway Patrol had received reports Tuesday of a reckless driver speeding on I-580 southbound at Mt. Rose, Smith said. NHP troopers located a man driving a red Dodge pickup recklessly on I-580 at the U.S. 395 alt overpass. ....
