TASHKENT, May 1 (Xinhua) Uzbekistan has approved a resolution to pay citizens aged 18 and over for walking more than 10,000 steps a day, said the Uzbek Justice Ministry on Saturday.
The government has developed an online platform where the public can register and create an electronic wallet to receive around 0.3 U.S. dollar for the daily walk, the ministry said, adding that citizens should install health apps on their mobile devices.
People who take the most steps at district, regional and country level will also reap rewards each month.
The document also envisages measures aimed at widespread implementation of a healthy lifestyle and promoting mass sports such as walking, running, cycling, soccer, badminton and volleyball. ....
