Frontline leaders in Yorubaland have warned the six governors in the South-West against negotiating the continued stay of the killer herders in the zone stressing, however that they should toe the path of honour taken by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) by issuing eviction notice to them.
The elders, under the aegis of the Yoruba World Assembly, YWA said the continued stay of the killer herders in the zone would translate to a threat to the residents who were being killed, kidnapped for ransom, raped and whose farmlands were being overrun.
The group, led by Chief Taiye Ayorinde, speaking through its Secretary General, Dr Victor Taiwo, on Monday warned the Federal Government not to toy with the corporate existence of the country by arresting Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Igboho. ....

Don't negotiate with Myetti Allah to return to South West, Yoruba leaders warn S/W governors

PROMINENT Yoruba leaders have warned the six governors in the South West zone not to negotiate the continued stay of Fulani herders in their states, urging them to toe the path of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) by issuing eviction notice to the violent herders.
The leaders under the aegis of Yoruba World Assembly said if they allow the herders to stay, it means residents in the zone are still not safe because the herders will still continue their atrocities.
Led by Chief Taiye Ayorinde, the leaders through the Secretary General of YWA, Dr Victor Taiwo, the Yoruba leaders also warned the Federal Government not to toy with the corporate existence of this country by arresting Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Igboho noting if they do, they have assaulted the whole Yoruba nation and not Sunday Igboho. ....

Chairman of the Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun in Oyo State, Gen. Kunle Togun, retd, yesterday raised the alarm that a large number of fully armed Fulani herders, who are non-Nigerians, have started trooping into the state through Saki East, Saki West and Atisbo Local Government Areas.
The development, however, elicited angry reactions from the Yoruba Council of Elders, YCE; pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere; the Agbekoya Farmers’ Association, who called on security agencies to address the situation.
The alarm came on a day the state governor, Seyi Makinde, said some foreigners, without proper documentation, are contributing to the rising wave of insecurity in the state and warned traditional rulers to stop allocating lands to foreigners without documentation. ....

Fully armed herdsmen trooping into Oyo State - General Togun raises alarm

Amotekun leader in Oyo State, General Kunle Togun, retd, has raised the alarm that a large number of fully armed Fulani herders are trooping into the State from foreign lands through Saki East, Saki West and Atisbo Local Government Areas.
The retired Army General said this during the Yoruba World Assembly, YWA’s first traditional security summit held at the old House of Chiefs, Parliament Buildings Secretariat in Ibadan.
The Amotekun chairman who was absent from the meeting as the chief guest of honour, forwarded the message to the Chairman, Governing Council and Secretary-General of YWA, Chief Taye Ayorinde and Dr. Victor Taiwo respectively, explaining the reason for his absence. ....

A former Director of Military Intelligence and leader of Oyo State Security Network popularly called Amotekun, General Kunle Togun has raised the alarm, saying heavily armed herdsmen are currently invading the state.
Togunwho is a retired General alleged that fully armed Fulani herders are trooping into the state from foreign lands through Saki East, Saki West and Atiba Local Government Areas.
Togun who was a Special Guest at Yoruba World Assembly, YWA’s first traditional security summit held at the old House of Chiefs, Parliament Buildings Secretariat in Ibadan couldn’t attend the function because of his commitment to curbing the influx of the foreigners. ....
