Johnson Plumbing and Heating has been a big part of the community for more than 50 years

The company was selected to be the best plumbing outfit in the city by those who voted in the Readers’ Choice Best of Estevan Awards organized by Estevan Mercury Publications.
“We provide a good service and people are appreciative of it,” said Brad Johnson, who is now the owner of the company.
The honour is also proof that people are still reading the papers distributed by the Mercury, he said.
“They’re still looking at that type of media,” said Johnson. “You wonder how well-read local advertising is with the Internet and everything else, but people are definitely picking up the paper and taking the time to go through it from front page to back page.” ....

Council members finalize their committee roles for 2021

Mayor Roy Ludwig is on the economic development board, the emergency measures organization, the Estevan board of police commissioners, the Estevan CP Rail community advisory panel, the Estevan Housing Authority board and the southern coal transition committee.
Veroba’s committee list includes the Estevan board of police commissioners, the Estevan Curling Club board, the RM of Estevan No 5-City of Estevan liaison committee and the Woodlawn Regional Park Authority.
Frank will join Ludwig on the economic development board and the RM of Estevan liaison board, and he will be on the airport liason committee.
As for the new members, Councillor Rebecca Foord will be on the Estevan Arts Council board, the Estevan Bruins board, the Regional Water Association board, the St. Joseph’s Hospital board and the South East Air Shed Association committee. ....
