LAHORE: Welcoming the decision for excluding more than 700 industrial units from Ravi Urban Development Project, local industrialists have expressed gratitude to the prime minister.
A press statement issued by Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) here on Sunday, these industrial units were situated along GT Road, Bhaini Road, Kala Khatai Road, Karol Ghati, Mehmood Booti, Lahore-Sialkot Motorway Interchange, and other nearby areas.
The owners of the industries said that the decision has restored their confidence in the government which will have positive impact on the economy.
It has removed uncertainty that had been prevailing in this regard for the past few months and the fear of thousands of people about becoming jobless has been ended, they added. ....

CPEC: PM Imran Khan orders to resolve Chinese companies' complaints on priority basis--China Economic Net

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 28 (Gwadar Pro) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered the concerned cabinet members to remain in contact with the dozens of Chinese companies working in Pakistan under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to resolve their complaints on priority basis, a senior minister said.

Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar told Gwadar Pro that the PM had taken notice of the complaints by some Chinese companies that bureaucratic hurdles were hampering the quick completion of several CPEC projects, especially in the Balochistan province.

“The PM has asked the cabinet members to remain in contact with the Chinese companies and let him know if there is any bureaucratic hindrance,” said the federal minister. ....

LAHORE: On the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan, all the existing industrial units have been exempted and would not be relocated from the area notified for Ravi Urban Development Project (RUDA), an official said on Saturday.
RUDA spokesman SM Imran and Senior Member Board of Revenue Punjab Babar Hayat Tarar said these industries would continue to function at their present places and residential localities, as these did not fall in the course of the river, and thus would not be acquired.
Settlements on 2,500 acres of land would not be acquired for the project. ....
