Jaipur:Â IPS officer Manish Agrawal, arrested by the Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau on corruption charges, was suspended by the state government on Friday, an order stated.
The state department of personnel issued the order citing his police custody for more than 48 hours as the ground for the suspension.
Agrawal has been accused of demanding Rs 38 lakh from a highway construction company through a middleman while he was posted as the Dausa SP. ....

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Manish Agarwal on charges of corruption during his tenure as Superintendent of Police in Dausa.
Mr. Agarwal’s house was raided after his arrest and he was being interrogated by a team of investigating officers.
Mr. Agarwal s name cropped up in a case in which a petrol pump owner, Neeraj Meena, was arrested from Dausa for allegedly demanding ₹38 lakh as bribe from a highway construction firm on behalf of the officer. Mr. Agarwal was posted as SP in Dausa from July 6, 2020 to January 6, 2021. ....

The cases have revealed how brazen the instances of misconduct have been and why chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s supervision of the senior officers in his government needs to be more stringent. Rajasthan government sets up special cell to nab corrupt officials

JAIPUR: In a bid to tighten the noose around corrupt officials, the Rajasthan Government has decided to a create a special cell in the personnel department that will closely monitor suspected corrupt and irresponsible officials in the state. This comes a day after two senior Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officials were trapped by Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) while they were taking huge bribes in return of promised favours.
In recent months, the ACB has been on a massive campaign against corrupt officials in the state at the behest of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The new cell has also been created on his initiative and the information was conveyed by the CM himself while addressing the collectors of the state via a video conference. CM Gehlot stated that a cell within the department of personnel will be formed “to look into complaints of indiscipline and corruption against government officials and anyone found guilty will be punished severely ....
