Heatwave conditions to prevail in Delhi, other parts of north India today, IMD predicts rain from July 10

The weather department said isolated parts of north India, including Delhi, are likely to witness similar heatwave conditions on Thursday as well.
Earlier, the Capital had reeled under a heatwave on July 1 (43.1 degrees Celsius) and July 2 (41.3 degrees Celsius) too.
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday (July 7, 2021) said that the national capital along with other parts of north India continues to reel under the ongoing heatwave with the maximum temperature reaching 42.6 degrees Celsius, which is six degrees above normal for this time of the year. Delhi on Wednesday recorded the third heatwave day in the month of July. ....

State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) have not hiked fuel prices on Wednesday, following a sharp hike a day ago. Petrol and diesel prices remain at record high levels at the moment and are expected to rise further in the wake of rising global crude oil rates.
OMCs are hiking domestic fuel prices every alternate day and the trend is likely to continue in the near future. This means fuel prices in the country are likely to rise further.
At the moment, petrol is retailing at nearly Rs 99 per litre in Delhi and diesel costs Rs 89.18 per litre. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol costs over Rs 105 per litre and an equal amount of diesel is retailing at Rs 96.72 per litre. ....
