Garhwa: Two teenaged girls from the tribal community were allegedly raped by two youths in a forested area under Chinia Police Station of the district on Monday. One of the accused has been arrested, police said on Wednesday.
“A case has been registered against Sandeep Yadav and Avinash Saw based on the statement of the fathers of both the survivors. Avinash has been arrested and we have launched a manhunt to nab Sandeep,” the officer in-charge of Chinia Police Station, Virendra Hansda, said. The survivors have been sent to Garhwa sadar hospital for a medical examination, Hansda added.
One of girls knew Sandeep and when she went to meet the latter, she took a female friend along with her. Sandeep had asked the girl to meet him at Ranicheri Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, where Sandeep’s friend Avinash was already present.
