Sydney lockdown: Central Coast, Wollongong lockdowns under review

NSW health authorities are assessing if parts of the Central Coast and Wollongong should remain locked down, amid growing frustration that communities with no active COVID-19 cases face draconian restrictions.
Labor MPs and crossbenchers met on Thursday evening with NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant and Health Minister Brad Hazzard to seek information on why regions such as Wollongong, the Central Coast and the Blue Mountains were included in the Greater Sydney lockdown when they had no active cases.
Multiple attendees confirmed that Mr Hazzard told the meeting, which was organised by Labor’s health spokesman Ryan Park, that NSW Health was actively reviewing the inclusion of these regions in the lockdown. ....

Federal Budget delivers plan for jobs across Central Coast
The Morrison Government’s Budget is securing the Central Coast’s economic recovery through protecting jobs today and making it easier for locals to get a job or for local businesses to hire someone tomorrow.
Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, Stuart Robert, joined Lucy Wicks, the Member for Robertson, to tour some of the Coast’s best local businesses and sit down with workers, trainees and apprentices to talk about how the Federal Budget will drive jobs and skills.
The Federal Budget guarantees around 55,400 taxpayers in Robertson will keep more of what they earn benefiting from tax relief of up to $2,745 this year. The Morrison Government’s Tax Plan has already benefited 62,200 residents across the Central Coast electorate – getting more of taxpayers’ own money out of government hands in Canberra and back into the local community. ....

New facilities for students at ET Australia Secondary College
Staff and students at ET Australia Secondary College in Gosford will benefit from two new and improved campuses, upgraded as part of the Morrison Government’s Capital Grants Program.
Minister for Education and Youth Alan Tudge and Member for Robertson Lucy Wicks today opened the renovated learning facilities including new classrooms, a science lab, two computer labs, breakout study areas, and learning enrichment rooms.
“These new, top-quality facilities will make a real difference in the daily lives of the students and teachers at ET Australia Secondary College,” Minister Tudge said. ....

Optus settles down in Spencer and delivers a permanent coverage solution


Dedicated mobile coverage for more than 200 homes
Optus certainly isnt getting cold feet when it comes to its commitment to improving mobile coverage across the Central Coast region of New South Wales, swapping out its interim solution in Spencer for something permanent as part of round two of the Federal Governments Mobile Black Spot Program.
The site, located along Wisemans Ferry road, provides dedicated 4G and 3G mobile coverage to the villages of Spencer and Wendoree Park on the Hawkesbury River. This permanent site will deliver much needed coverage and connectivity to the Central Coast region, replacing the Satellite Small Cell that was deployed in the interim and will enable more than 200 homes to make and receive calls, texts and browse the internet. At Optus expense, a new dedicated 4G Satellite Small Cell will be deployed at Marlow who have been benefitting from the interim solution deployed at the Spencer caravan park. ....
