Raya SOP: No open houses, 15-person limit for house visits in MCO areas

PUTRAJAYA: The National Security Council (NSC) has released standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
For areas under the movement control order, Hari Raya visits are allowed only on the first day with not more than 15 people at one time depending on the size of the house.
For those celebrating in areas under the conditional MCO and recovery MCO, visits are allowed for the first three days of Syawal.
In areas under the conditional MCO, the hosts can accommodate not more than 20 people at one time while in areas under recovery MCO, there cannot be more than 25 guests in a house, but this also depends on the size of the premises. ....

NSC to decide on Raya SOP, inter-district travel next week, says Ismail Sabri

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The special National Security Council (NSC) meeting scheduled for Monday (May 3) next week will decide on several matters related to the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations this year, including the standard operating procedures (SOP) and inter-district travel permission.
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the Raya SOP will be issued based on the advice and recommendations from the Health Ministry (MOH) to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Today, the Technical Committee will discuss the matters before presenting it at the special NSC meeting on Monday, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. ....

Raya-themed gambling ad: Don't abuse media freedom, says Saifuddin

PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The government has always taken the stand of defending media freedom including social media but it should not be abused, says Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah.
Referring to the advertisement promoting gambling with a Hari Raya theme, Saifuddin said even though the government practises media freedom, it is also responsible for taking the appropriate action if there are matters which cross the legal boundary.
We know in this digital community, it is almost impossible to control everything. So we understand the situation of life in the digital society.
