RICHMOND, Ind.  A fire at Interfaith Apartments was extinguished quickly Monday night, containing the fire to just one unit.
Two people a resident of the apartment where the fire started and another resident of the same floor were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene and released, according to Richmond Fire Department Battalion Chief Tim Brown.
RFD was dispatched at 10:44 p.m. to the South Building at 501 W. Main St., Brown said. When firefighters arrived, they found fire inside apartment 602. Brown said the door to 602 was closed, and that helped contain the smoke and fire inside that apartment.

We started to evacuate the floors, but we had it contained so quickly we allowed them to shelter in place, Brown said. ....
