Two from Morganton Arrested on Drug & Shoplifting Charges

24-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Powell and 32-year-old Ryan Conrad Tetreault, both of Silver Street in Morganton, were arrested by Hickory Police at about 11:00 last night (January 5). Powell was charged with felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Tetreault was charged with resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer. In addition, both suspects were charged with misdemeanor larceny.
They were arrested when Hickory Police responded to the Walmart store on Highway 70 S.E. in Hickory where Loss Prevention Officers were holding both suspects for shoplifting. During the arrest, Officers found 0.8 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Tetreault initially gave Officers a fa ....
