Margao (Goa) [India], May 12 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday visited the medical oxygen tank at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao where an incident of leakage had taken place on Tuesday afternoon due to which one person sustained injuries.
The Chief Minister also held a meeting with the hospital authorities and discussed various issues related to COVID-19.
District Collector, South, Ruchika Katyal, Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Dr Deepa Correia and others attended the meeting with Dr Pramod Sawant.
The state government informed that the technical experts team who have flown in from Delhi have started the repair work and should be ready for the refilling of oxygen by today. ....

Panaji (Goa) [India], May 11 (ANI): One person sustained injuries due to leakage from an oxygen tanker in South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) in Margao on Tuesday afternoon.
Clouds of smoke were seen coming out from the tanker.
After we were informed about the incident, our team went to the spot. There was no fire, only leakage of oxygen from the tanker. We asked for reinforcement. Two fire engines reached the spot and we managed to stop the leakage after 30 to 40 minutes. A person was injured due to cold burns. Everyone worked jointly, Nitin Raikar, Deputy Director, Fire Department, South Goa, told reporters. ....

Goa: Land acquisition for double-tracking illegal, says opposition | Goa News

Opposition cited discrepencies under the Railway Act, 1989
PANAJI/VASCO: The land acquisition process being undertaken by the state government for the South Western Railway’s double tracking project under the Railway Act “is improper and illegal”, said a united opposition on Thursday. The opposition met officials at the South Goa collectorate and submitted a memorandum demanding that all hearings regarding the land acquisition should be stopped as the Railway Act, 1989, can be used only for special railway projects and not for the current double tracking of railways.
Opposition MLAs, including Benaulim MLA Churchil Alemao and Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar, submitted a memorandum to the South Goa collector Ruchika Katyal and said that they would take legal recourse if the state government did not stop the land acquisition process and the double tracking project. ....
