Parks and Rec Director Foster Hughes named interim city manager
Friday marked the final day on the job for New Bern City Manager Mark Stephens, who announced last month he would resign effective May 14. The City has named Foster Hughes, New Bern’s Parks and Recreation director, as interim city manager.
According to Colleen Roberts, City of New Bern public information officer, Hughes was chosen for the position during a closed session meeting of the Board of Aldermen on May 11. She said the City does not currently have candidates for the permanent city manager position and has not posted the position. ....
