On Monday, William Hunter, 21, from the Roanoke Rapids area, turned himself in to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, according to a press release from Roanoke Rapids Police Chief Bobby Martin.
William and Leon Hunter, 36, also of the Roanoke Rapids area, were sought in regard to a Sept. 14 incident, when officers with the RRPD responded to the Baymont Inn on Old Farm Road, in reference to a male subject being shot. When officers arrived, they located the subject, who had a gunshot to the head. The victim, Aaron Martin, a 25-year-old male from Weldon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators were able to develop information they were able to follow up on, which led them to obtain warrants on Leon Hunter and William Hunter for the murder of Martin. Investigators were also able to obtain warrants on Sari Fakhri Yousef for accessory before the fact and felony conspiracy. Yousef was arrested by Rocky Mount Police Department on Dec. 4, and released on a $60,000 secured ....
