KAAL-TV Created: January 13, 2021 10:37 PM (ABC 6 News) - The Salvation Army in Rochester held its second winter coat distribution on Wednesday thanks to the continued generosity of coat and other winter outerwear donations from the community. The first distribution event took place in October as part of part of Rochester Spirit Days. Organizers say over 500 coats were handed out. Anyone that wanted was able to receive a winter coat, hats, cloves, boots, or scarves. We re just trying to give people one less thing to worry about. It s cold, were in a pandemic, we got all this going on and we know it. The last thing that anyone should need to worry about is a winter coat and so the public has been so generous giving us coats, some new, some gently used, so that anybody who needs a coat can come down here and get one, says Major.
