The Rawalpindi police arrested more than 50 people for vandalising public property and disrupting the law and order situation in the city. According to a spokesperson, an operation was held Thursday night to nab the accused involved in creating public disorder for three days earlier in the week.
City Police Officer (CPO) Ahsan Younas said on Friday that no one will be allowed to spread unrest and anarchy by challenging the writ of the state. The Rawalpindi Regional Police Officer (RPO) Imran Ahmar visited the security personnel at District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) and Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) injured during the protests.
Rawalpindi Commissioner (RC) Gulzar Hussain Shah, Islamabad Inspector General of Police Qazi Jamilur Rehman, and other officers also accompanied the RPO on Thursday and inquired after the health of the injured personnel.
The officials stated that those who performed their duties fearlessly are the best assets of the force and will not be left alone in this difficult time. The commissioner also instructed the medical staff to provide the best facilities to the personnel. ....

RAWALPINDI:
The Punjab government has imposed smart lockdowns in 15 coronavirus hotspots amid a rise in coronavirus (Covid-19) cases to remain in place until March 23, a notification in this regard was issued on Monday.
Currently, 19 areas are now under smart lockdown during the third wave after four areas were declared hotspots last week. These areas include Dhok Paracha, Sadiqabad, Afshan Colony, Misrial Road, Lalazar Tulsa Road, Gulraiz Colony, Scheme No Five and CB 1,231 near Qasre Abu Talib in Azizabad, Street No 27 of Allama Iqbal Colony, Street No Two to Seven in Dhok Chaudhrian, Street No 24, 36 and 39 in Amarpura, Bahria Town Phase VIII, Satellite Town A Block, Khayaban-eSir Syed ....
