Laguna Covid-19 Matching Grant Relief Fund for Laguna Beach Residents and Employees Launches Today

To provide direct financial assistance to individuals and employees living or working in Laguna Beach that have been impacted by COVID-19, the Laguna Beach City Council set aside a $300,000 matching grant for Phase 2 of the Laguna Covid-19 Relief Fund  as part of the City’s $1.4 million in economic assistance for restaurants, bars, retail & community.
Starting Jan.11, the Laguna Covid-19 Relief Fund, administered by the Laguna Beach Community Foundation (LBCF), will provide Emergency Assistance Mini-Grants up to a
maximum of $1,000 per household to individuals living or working in Laguna Beach with emphasis on those in the restaurant, hospitality, retail, and personal services industries. All donations made to the Laguna Covid-19 Relief Fund are tax deductible and will be matched by the City of Laguna Beach up to $300,000. \The fund has already ....

Laguna Beach City Council approves $1.4 million in financial relief for businesses and community


Laguna Beach is reaching into its general fund reserve to provide financial assistance to local businesses and the community.
The Laguna Beach City Council unanimously approved the appropriation of $1.4 million from the city’s reserves, a decision focused on providing relief for those facing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A grant program referred to as “LB Cares” allows the city’s 122 restaurants and bars to apply for $5,000 grants. Local retailers that had to close due to protocols instituted because of the coronavirus can receive $3,000, and those that have had to operate at reduced capacity can apply for $2,000 in aid. ....
