29 new positive cases reported in UT Ladakh

Leh, Apr 05: The administration of Ladakh Union Territory on Monday informed that 29 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Kargil and Leh.
As per the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services UT Ladakh, a total of 29 positive sample reports for COVID-19 were received yesterday.
“Of 29 positive cases, 22 samples were received by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil and seven sample reports were received by CMO Leh,” the bulletin said.
The bulletin further stated that UT Ladakh has discharged 12 patients yesterday. “All the patients were discharged by CMO Leh,” it said.
With 29 more cases, the total number of COVID-19 active cases in UT Ladakh has mounted to 323 292 in Leh district and 31 in Kargil district ....

India-China clash: Pangong Lake opens to tourists after a year

The Ladakh administration has re-opened Pangong Lake, the region’s most prized picnic spot and one of the main theatres of the ongoing standoff between the Indian and Chinese armies, for tourists after nearly a year.
“The majestic Pangong Lake has been reopened for tourists starting January 10. So, get inner line permit (ILP) at http://lahdclehpermit.in, and visit this spellbinding lake,” tweeted Ladakh Tourism, the official Twitter handle of the tourism department of Ladakh Union Territory on Sunday.
The lake was shut for tourists last year because of the pandemic and border tensions, which broke out around the same time. China holds more than two-thirds of the 134km-long lake. ....
