The Kenya Port Authority (KPA) board has been forced to back to the drawing board in their hunt for a Managing Director after Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani declined the list of nominees submitted to him.
The KPA board which has been conducting interviews for the Managing Director post reportedly interviewed six candidates for the position and shortlisted three. They then submitted the list to CS Yatni who was not impressed.
In a letter dated March 2, 2021, copied to Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, and Transport CS James Macharia, Yatani pointed out that none of the names presented to him met the appointment requirements. ....

Controversy has hit the ongoing recruitment of Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) managing director after senior managers who had been shortlisted claimed that they had been ordered to stand down.
On Tuesday, KPA board interviewed six candidates and submitted three names to National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani to pick one for the post.
Among the candidates were former KPA middle level managers who made it from the initial list of 150 applicants.

Mr Kasuku headed Lapsset since its inception in March 2013 until January 5 when his term expired.

The Ksh 42 billion Nairobi-Isiolo-Moyale road has seen an influx of investors flood into the area where purchase and sale of land has seen them raking in millions.
The highway, which is part of the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport (Lapsset) Corridor Project was undertaken to expand the road network away from the Mombasa-Uganda Corridor that passes through Nairobi and much of the Rift Valley.
