The community spirit continues to be at the forefront of Los Alamitos Race Course this holiday season with racetrack owner Ed Allred donating $18,560 to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Anaheim-Cypress in the form of a check on Tuesday afternoon.
George Pardon, a board member with the Los Alamitos Quarter Horse Racing Association, made the check presentation to John Machiaverna, the Chief Executive Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Anaheim-Cypress.
“This comes at a great time,” Machiaverna said. “We are struggling to keep our doors open. We have a limited number of kids that can come into the facilities now, so every dime is very important. We are doing food distributions, we are serving families, we are helping kids, and we have expanded our outreach to include whole families. We really appreciate it.” ....
