17:16, Jun 29 2021 HAMILTON CITY COUNCIL Hamilton City Council's Hamilton Organic centre will be managed by EnviroWaste from Thursday onwards. Hamilton City Council’s waste and recycling contractor EnviroWaste will take over operation at the Hamilton Organic centre in Frankton this week, as part of the kerbside collection contract. The change means the centre must close at midday on Wednesday, and will reopen at 10am on Thursday – an hour later than usual, to give EnviroWaste time to set up. If people had green waste they absolutely had to get rid of during the brief closure, they could take it to the Lincoln Street Resource Recovery Centre.

Press Release – Hamilton City Council Hamilton City Council’s facilities and services are again operating under the Government guidelines for COVID-19 Alert Level 2 after changes to Alert Levels were announced by Government. Hamilton, and all New Zealand except Auckland, is under Alert Level 2 from 6am tomorrow, (Sunday 28 February). Auckland is under Alert Level 3. The alert levels will initially remain in place for seven days. All Council facilities remain open and all services will continue operating under Alert Level 2. Some events have been cancelled, including this weekend’s Hamilton Arts Festival events at Hamilton Gardens, and the city’s Love Your Bike Day.

That is one of the findings of a Waipā District Council solid waste audit, which involved hand-sorting the contents of 253 randomly selected bins and bags from 44 streets in the district.
