The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at the Budget Inn located at 1228 Piney Forest Road this morning at 8:47 am. Engine 5’s crew from Third Avenue Fire Station arrived on scene at 8:52 a.m. and found a large single-story motel with heavy smoke and fire coming from room 110. Engine 5’s crew pulled a hand line and began attacking the fire from the outside to extinguish the fire. Engine 2’s crew (from Piney Forest Fire Station) established a water supply. Ladder 1’s crew (from Lynn Street Fire Station) along with Engine 2’s crew, began evacuating the rest of the motel rooms.
