Battlebox Studios store and gaming lounge in Milwaukee s central city was facing plunging revenue in spring 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
One year later, the small, Black-owned business is on more solid ground and is planning to expand by purchasing an adjacent warehouse and vacant lot from the city. It s turning into a hub, said Bryant Wilcox, who operates Battlebox, 5431 W. Lisbon Ave., with his wife, Joyce Wilcox, and son, Bryant Adams.
Battlebox has agreed to buy a 2,100-square-foot vacant lot at 5413 West Lisbon Ave., and a two-story, 4,100-square-foot warehouse located just behind the lot, at 2510 N. 55th St.
That s according to a new resolution pending before the Common Council.
