Dismiss By Andrew Fuhrmann Save Normal text size Darebin Arts Speakeasy, Northcote, until April 24 Alisdair Macindoe’s latest creation, a higgledy-piggledy mix of low-key dancing and absurdist sketch comedy, is ostensibly about how dance is made. But it comes across less like artful self-analysis and more like silly winking and nudging. Dancers in Reference Material. Credit:Gregory Lorenzutti Macindoe shows us the steps and phrases while also verbalising the thoughts and intentions of choreographers and dancers. This strange, slight piece starts with Harrison Ritchie-Jones and Rachel Coulson moving smoothly and unhurriedly across the stage, arms conjuring suggestive shapes and patterns.
