A man has been winched to safety after hours of being stuck on a ledge in the Kaimai Range.
Police and Land Search and Rescue staff were called to help the man, who had entered the range from Thompsons Track and was headed for the Kauritatahi Hut.
A police spokeswoman said police were called after 4pm by a person who said they were stuck on a ledge near a track in the area. ....
